Trainline frees European stations

**European Railway Station Database**
We are at the centre of European rail and bus operators. It goes without saying that these carriers all have their own offers, languages and data of their own. To succeed in combining all these offers, we had to make a harmonisation effort. We had to identify a fabulous number of points of interest (stop points, stations and cities) served by operators, to allow our application to identify them in all languages and in all booking systems.
This unification work is not limited to a simple storage of previously scattered data. It resembles in many respects that of the restorer of forgotten works of art. Part by piece, we have retyped, repaired, cleaned, dusty, adjusted and straightened data sometimes abbreviated. Here, it was the name of a station that was to be ripped up. There, we had to find the right geographical coordinates of another station, when we didn't have to separate all the homonyms from each other as well. A whole program in short.
This dataset contains a repository used by Trainline of approximately 30000 points of interest (stop points, stations and cities) served by public transport operators in Europe.
