Description

Top10SMART is a scale-independent grid version of topography Top10NL. The raster file has 4 layers: The base layer is almost identical to the content of Top10NL and contains approximately 35 base legends. Compared to Top10NL, a number of road classes have been merged and no distinction has been made in the type of buildings. The second layer contains ditches, ditches, wooded banks, rows of trees and hedges. This is an extension of the base layer with additional legend units. The third layer is an aggregated layer with 7 legend units: Urban, Grassland, Arable Land, Water, Forests, Sand, and Heath. The units of approximately 10 ha are composed over the boundaries of local infrastructure. The main Infrastructure (motorways and railways) have been buffered with 50m and added as a fourth layer. This allows the main infrastructure to be displayed in grid at the 1:250,000 scale. With the 4-layer layout of the grid, legends have been compiled for different scales. With Top10Smart legends can be used for different scales, 4 formats have been created for 1:10,000 to 1: 250,000. The Top10Smart 2.5x2.5m grid can be drawn very quickly as an SDE layer or in FileBased Geodatabase in ArcGIS/ArcIMS.
