Local public finances 2018
Description
The Court of Auditors publishes its sixth annual report on the financial situation and management of local and regional authorities and their public institutions, which is the result of joint work with the regional chambers of accounts.
It proposes an unprecedented assessment of the impact of the decrease in allocations
for the period 2014-2017: although lessened by the dynamism of taxation, the decrease in the overall operating allocation had the expected effect by halting the increase in local expenditure. Although 2017 was marked by less control over their spending, for the third year in a row, local authorities have developed a financing capacity, confirming the overall improvement in their financial situation.
