Summer/winter time changeover days
Description
According to the Unity and Time Act of 11 July 2008, (BGBI Part I, p. 1185), the legal period is the Central European Time. This is determined by the coordinated world time with the addition of an hour. For the period of its introduction, Central European summer time is the legal period. Central European summer time is determined by the coordinated world time with the addition of two hours. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has been authorised to introduce Central European summer time for a period between 1 March and 31 October in order to make better use of the daily brightness and to align the time count with neighbouring states by means of a statutory ordinance which does not require the consent of the Bundesrat. Central European summer time should start and end on a Sunday. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology determines by ordinance the day and time at which Central European summer time begins and ends.
