Characterization of the Andalusian coastline: 2007
Description
The coastline represents the linear segment that runs along the margin of the Andalusian coast in contact with the sea, from its beginning in Portugal to its eastern end in Murcia. To obtain it, four digitization criteria have been used that define the coastline from a geomorphological perspective with a clear intentionality applied: Last wet tide mark in sedimentary littoral formations exposed to the open sea (beaches). (ii) Lower tide limit (among all available orthos) for estuaries and tidal network. (iii) External infrastructure limit for all types of infrastructure in direct contact with the sea. (iv) Cliff base for rock formations directly connected to the sea.
