Exposure of populations and territories to air pollutants NO2 and PM10 for the Île-de-France region
Description
The limit values exceedance indicators are calculated from the Ile-de-France concentration maps produced by Airparif. These exceedances are calculated annually for benzene, Ozone, nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5).
3 types of indicators are calculated:
— Population exposed to exceedance
— Area of exceedance
— Kilometres of road overrun
3 types of values are possible:
— Numerical value (rounded)
— ‘< 1 %’ of the population or area of the territory: the exceedance is less than 1 % of the population or area of the territory, but an exceedance is certain. Code -99 identifies this type of values.
— ‘insignificant’ for the population or area of a territory: exceedance is possible but only concerns a very small proportion of the population or area of the territory concerned. Code -999 identifies this type of values.
If the indicator is not available, code -9 999 identifies it.
The population used to perform the exposure calculations is the INSEE reference population from 2011. It was spatialised by the IAU (Institut d’Aménagement et d’Urbanisme d’Ile-de-France) in 2014, in order to provide population information on each mesh of the 50 m grid of Île-de-France used by Airparif.
