Description
In the soil overview map in scale 1: 500000 (BÜK500) presents the most important soil types and their socialisation on the basis of soil landscapes, large soil landscapes and soil regions.
The spatial distribution of floors usually shows a narrow-space mosaic of different appearances and properties. Even at large scales, the spread can usually only be represented as soil socialisation. The pedoregional structure is intended to provide the framework for a systematic order of spatial coexistence of soils. The soil regions and large-scale soil landscapes provide an overview of the soil history of the country and form the upper levels of the pedoregional division of Lower Saxony.
The spread of soils in Lower Saxony is not accidental. It is easy to understand that the soils in the area of the flat marsh landscapes are fundamentally different from those of the Geest, the foothills, the mountain country or the low mountain range (Harz). The soils and soil societies in the area of the flat marsh landscapes find no equivalent in the Geest, the foothills, the mountain range or the low mountain range (resin). The above categories therefore also describe significant soil-related structures and are referred to as the soil regions of Lower Saxony. Within the soil regions, more homogeneous soil areas can be formed by narrowing the geofactors (rock, relief, water balance, climate). The structure of large soil landscapes depends on the geological morphological structure. In the Geest, this is essentially based on the sequence in the glacial series and the maritime-continental climate change. In the mountain foreland region, dissolving and dissolving large landscapes of different relief forms (even to shallow wavy, hilly) are separated. The large-scale landscapes of the mountain range differ due to the relief. The soil regions of the low mountains and the coast are not divided into large soil landscapes.
