Residential accessibility by passenger car 2014
Description
Accessibility of residents in the Turku urban area by car via the road and street network. Accessibility is calculated as an exponential distance function from the average travel time weighted by population density. The analysis was carried out by utilising the Digiroad 2013 road network and the grid data of 2011 from the urban structure monitoring system (YKR). Road network data has been used for speed limits per bus type, and the population density has been retrieved from the grid data. Preparations for departure and a 3-minute resistance that takes into account the search for a parking space have been added to the travel time.
