Description

The World Wild Fund (WWF) is a network of around 100 autonomous national offices, including the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) France, which was set up in 1973 as an association and became a recognised public benefit foundation in 2004. The Court of Auditors carried out an audit of the resources collected from the public by WWF France for the financial years 2011-2012 to 2015-2016, in order to verify that the expenditure incurred was consistent with the objectives pursued by the public call for generosity. At the end of its audit, while taking note of the commitments made by WWF France to follow all seven recommendations it makes, the Court considers that the expenditure incurred during those financial years is broadly in line with the objectives pursued by the public call for generosity. On the other hand, the Court declares that it is unable to rule on the use of the funds, representing approximately 16% of the resources collected from the public, paid to WWF International and the other WWFs.
