The Greater Paris Society
Description
Created by the State in 2010, the Société du Grand Paris (SGP) is responsible for the construction of the new bypass metro infrastructure around Paris. After focusing on the design of the Grand Paris Express project, it is in the implementation phase, with a constrained timetable. The Court warns of the considerable slippage in the projected cost of this project, the resulting financial risks and the fragility of the situation in which the SGP finds itself. Time and cost control so far appears to be very compromised, making it unachievable to fully amortise the debt in 2070. The Court makes six recommendations aimed at controlling the cost and sustainability of the project.
