Salinisation map 2014 - Eastern coastal area (m-mv)
Description
The map shows the depth of the 6 Ωm boundary in meters with respect to ground level. This interface can be considered as the interface between fresh and salt groundwater. By visualizing the map together with the data points, one knows where effective measurements were made and where they were interpolated. The map is the result of electromagnetic measurements carried out from the air in April 2014. The resistance of the subsurface was determined. The 6 Ωm interface was derived from this. Resistances (or resistances) of the subsurface smaller than 6 Ωm can almost always be attributed to the presence of brackish or salt groundwater. The map is indicative and gives a global picture of the spatial distribution of salinised and unsalinated sediments in the eastern coastal plain. In order to know the local salinity distribution and lithological variation in detail, further research by the end user is necessary.
