Description
In order to manage the groundwater, the Flemish subsoil is divided into several three-dimensional units: groundwater bodies. Within these groundwater bodies, environmental objectives are tested and, if necessary, measures are imposed. BEVLM_A1100_2 - Chalk Meuse east, closed. Content: deposits of the Cretaceous Aquifer system A1100, underlying deposits of the Jurassic - Triassic - Perm A1200 and the Base A1300, and parent deposits of the Paleocene Aquifer system A1000. The bodies of groundwater have both a name and a code. This code starts with an abbreviation of the Member State and the Region (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Belgium, Flanders), followed by the letter "S" or "M", indicating that a groundwater body is situated in the Scheldt or Meuse river basin district (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Meuse). The numerical code refers to the HCOVv2 code, which corresponds to the main aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Kempens Aquifer system). A sequential number at the end indicates the further spatial division of the groundwater bodies into that aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = second groundwater body in the Meuse river basin district of which the Kempens Aquifer system is the most important aquifer).
