INSPIRE-WMS Soil / Humus content classes (KA5) in topsoil BB
Description
The interoperable INSPIRE WMS is a display service that displays data in the annex schema ground (derived from the original dataset: Humus content classes (KA5) in the upper soil of Brandenburg). It gives an overview of the humus content in the topsoil. The map is based on the legend units of the soil overview map (BÜK300) with assignment of parameterized surface soil shapes, which were determined by terrain and laboratory tests. For this purpose, the corresponding parameters (such as humus contents) were statistically derived for the same horizon-substrate combinations (usually the median value). The humus contents of the horizon-substrate combinations of surface soil forms were classified according to the Soil Science Mapping Guide, 5th edition, Hannover 2005, Table 15. Due to the dominance of agricultural land in Brandenburg, the humus classification for agricultural use was applied nationwide. The service represents the classified values for the topsoil. These are usually the values of the uppermost mineral or peat soil horizon. With different values for the surface soil shapes of the respective legend unit, humus content classes were weighted averaged. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the ground map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WMS contains the following layers:
- SO.organicCarbonContent: Organic carbon content, excluding live macrofauna, mesofauna and living vegetable tissue.
- SO.SoilBody: Delimited and homogeneous part of the floor covering with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns.

The compliant INSPIRE-WMS Soil / Humusgehaltsklasse (KA5) im Oberboden Brandenburg is a view service that delivers data in the annex schema Soil (derived from the original data set: Organic carbon content in the top soil Brandenburg). It provides an overview of the organic matter content in the top soil. The map is based on the legend units of the soil map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parameterized soil forms determined by field and laboratory investigations. For the same horizon-substrate combinations, the corresponding parameters (such as organic matter content) were statistically derived (usually the median value). The organic matter content of the horizon-substrate combinations of soil forms was classified according to the Soil Science Mapping Guide, 5th edition, Hanover 2005, Tab. 15. Due to the dominance of agricultural areas in Brandenburg, the organic matter classification for agricultural use was applied area-wide. The map represents the classified values for the topsoil. The content of the soil map is compliant to the INSPIRE data specification for the annex theme Geology (D2.8.III.3_v3.0). The WMS includes the following layers:
- SO.organicCarbonContent: Portion of the soil measured as carbon in organic form, excluding living macro and mesofauna and living plant tissue.
- SO.SoilBody: Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns.
