Topographic Military Map 1850, net drawings
Description
The field minutes for the Topographic Military Map (TMK) were made between 1836 and 1856 by officers of the office of the Military Explorations with the aim of producing for the first time a topographic map for the whole of the Netherlands. The result of the explorations has been worked out in colour in a series of net drawings. These grid drawings are the intermediate link between the terrain work, the field minutes, and the stone-engraved map sheets of the TMK. These are published in black and white. Net drawings are the only colored version that is landscaping available. The grid drawings have been scanned by the Centre Geo-Information of Alterra and georeferenced in the RD system. The end result is an imagefile of a net drawing in geotiff format.
