The State budget in 2016 (results and management)
Description
The Court of Auditors publishes its report on the state budget in 2016, including a chapter on fiscal relations between the state and its operators, and accompanied by 62 budget implementation notes. It will be complemented in early July by the report on the state and outlook of public finances, including the public finance audit requested by the Prime Minister. The 2016 implementation of the State budget is characterised by a small and insignificant deficit reduction. Management in 2016 is moving further and further away from the objectives and principles of the Organic Law on Finance Laws. Uncertainties about the fiscal path in the short and medium term are heightened and the financial situation of the State has further deteriorated. The favourable context of the decline in the debt burden and the sharp reduction in revenue levies has been insufficiently used to make progress in restoring government finances.
