Description
The product "land cover" is provided as WMS "nw_landbedeckung" for North Rhine-Westphalia in a comprehensive and overlap-free manner. The land cover is based on the data model of the AdV, in which 15 land cover classes (e.g. building construction, civil engineering, vegetation and water bodies) are defined. For the land cover of North Rhine-Westphalia, these classes can in principle be derived and provided with this service. It should be noted that the land cover classes "solid rock", "sea" and "ice" are not to be found in North Rhine-Westphalia. In deriving the land cover, satellite data from ESA's Copernicus programme (Sentinel-2) as well as geospatial base data available nationwide for NRW are used in the form of ALKIS data from the secondary database, digital orthophotos (DOP) and the normalised digital surface model (nDOM). The actuality of the underlying and displayed data can be requested via the GetFeatureInfo of the layer (factual data query). All objects of land cover exceeding a minimum area of 100 square meters shall be designated independently; the building construction is shown completely from a minimum size of 10 square meters. The objects of the land cover are collected with an accuracy greater than 1 meter to less than 2 meters, as far as this can be deduced from the input data.
