Description
Increasing slope inclination makes it difficult to rationally manage the vineyards. In flat, non-terrasised vineyards, the annual workload incl. grape harvest is about 400 hours/ha/year and increases up to 1500 hours/ha/year in steep terraced mountains of Wall wine. Soil removal starts at 2 to 3 % slope with non-green soil surface. Most vineyard soils at risk of erosion are now protected from soil removal by greening, in rain-poor areas, partly by straw cover.
