Bpifrance: successful implementation, development to be stabilised, financial perspectives to be consolidated
Description
The Bpifrance Public Investment Bank, born from the grouping of the four entities Oséo, CDC Entreprises, Fonds stratégique d’Investment (FSI) and FSI Régions, was created in 2012 to continue and amplify public support for corporate financing and to address the risk of credit draining. Its successful implementation gave rise to a group with multiple action capacities, whose interventions, both in loans and equity investments, amounted to EUR 18.8 billion and benefited nearly 71,200 companies in 2015. Stabilisation of its activity is now desirable, as well as a rigorous control of its operating costs. Finally, a clarification of the strategy of state financing of Bpifrance’s activities should accompany shareholders’ reflections on the evolution of the group’s economic and financial model.
