La Poste: a transformation to be accelerated
Description
The La Poste group, the second largest public employer in France with more than 250 000 employees, operates in various fields (banking, mail, parcels, mobile telephony, etc.), including through subsidiaries in France and abroad. La Poste embodies a public service present throughout the territory thanks to two major networks: contact points (more than 17,000, including 9,149 post offices) and home delivery (more than 72,000 mail delivery factors in 39 million mailboxes, six days a week). Today, La Poste is faced with the continuous drop in mail volumes, which reduces its turnover by €500 million each year. To this challenge is added the need for the company to succeed in its digital transformation, to respond to the growth of e-commerce and, for La Banque Postale, to face low interest rates. If La Poste has been able to evolve and be resilient, fragilities and exogenous risks persist. It must therefore, in order to endure, accelerate the pace of its transformation.
