France Télévisions: better running the business, speeding up reforms

Description

France Télévisions, a company wholly owned by the State, is a group that brings together five national channels, 24 regional antennas, nine overseas television and radio stations, as well as several subsidiaries. It had 9 932 full-time jobs at the end of 2015 (excluding subsidiaries), 86% of which were permanent jobs. Funds of public origin (€2.5 billion in 2015) represent almost 80% of its resources. After carrying out an audit of the financial years 2009 to 2015, the Court finds that the management of France Télévisions lacks rigour and that the undertaking has not reformed sufficiently to cope with the digital revolution, which is profoundly changing the environment in which it operates, its professions and the practices of viewers. The report is available on [the Court's website] (https://www.ccomptes.fr/publications/france-televisions-mieux-gerer-lentreprise-accelerer-les-reformes). The published files correspond to the data that served as the basis for the preparation of the report.
