Broadband Atlas

Description

The [Breitbandatlas](https://breitbandatlas.gv.at/) is the central information platform of the Federal Government on broadband availability in Austria. Maps shall be used to make publicly available the information provided by infrastructure providers on the availability of fixed and mobile broadband networks. In addition to the presentation of the current fixed and mobile broadband availability, the Broadband Atlas also shows all those areas in which a subsidised expansion of fixed access networks takes place as part of the [Initiatives Breitband Austria 2020 (BBA2020) and Breitband Austria 2030 (BBA2030)](https://breitbandfoerderung.gv.at/). The data on fixed and mobile broadband availabilities as well as those of the BBA2020 programmes: Access, BBA2020: Access+ELER, BBA2020: Empty pipe, BBA2030: Access and BBA2030: OpenNet is based on 100 × 100 meter grid cells or in the case of BBA2030: Connect represented as points. The BBA2020 programmes: Backhaul and BBA2020: For data-technical reasons, Connect cannot be included in the existing presentation concept. In addition, evaluations based on mobile network test results are offered, which provide information about average download rates achieved in the past. The Broadband Office provides the raw data underlying the fixed and mobile network availability as well as the supported broadband expansion as a download on data.gv.at. The unfiltered map representations of the broadband atlas are also available as WMTS layers and the pop-up information of individual raster cells or BBA2030: Connect connections available via a REST API or a GetFeatureInfo request.
