Description
This dataset details all research and ancillary projects funded by Research Ireland since its foundation in 2024 to the present date. The data for its predecessor organisation’s (Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish Research Council) are found elsewhere.
Research Ireland is larger largest national public funder of research in Ireland. Consequently, Research Ireland invested in those academic researchers and research teams who were most likely to generate new knowledge, leading edge technologies, societal impacts and competitive enterprises.
As part of its function, Research Ireland promotes and support the study of, education in, and engagement with research and promotes an awareness and understanding of the value of research to society.
Research Ireland grants are made based upon the merit review of distinguished scientists.
