Using real estate “big data” to create new services and business models
Description
The aim of the phased project is to collect, analyse and visualise measurement data collected from properties, and to find ways to use the resulting information to test new services and business models. The aim is also to study how the analysis of data could serve different interest groups in real estate, such as users, tenants, maintenance companies, owners and also public authorities.
The first experiment was chosen to test the air conditioning system, indoor climate, energy use and simulation and monitoring and user interfaces to improve user well-being and work efficiency. The experimental site is located at the City of Helsinki’s premises in Sofiankatu 4, where office space has been refurbished for renters. Ramboll has made air conditioning plans and Halton has supplied air conditioners
