Solar potential (2019) - Building areas/facade (only suitable areas with a mid-specific irradiation of at least 400 kWh/m2a are considered) (WFS service)
Description
The suitability of the roof panels for the use of solar energy for electricity generation or for hot water treatment is presented.
The database contains information on the usable solar total irradiation on the facade surface, the potential electricity yield as well as the maximum module area and performance of a photovoltaic system.
For the potential calculation, only facade parts above 4 meters height and only the building sides with an average specific irradiation of at least 400 kWh/m2a were considered. Accordingly, for example, no north-facing facades are included.
Since it is a two-dimensional representation, all suitable facade potentials of a building for the total irradiation and the potential electricity yield were cumulated.
Buildings below 4 metres in height or where all facade sides have an average specific irradiation of less than 400 kWh/m2a were shown in grey.
In addition, the information on monument protection is listed in order to point out the possible limited use of the solar potential. In accordance with § 12(2) SächsDSchG, permits under monument law for solar installations are also required for measures in monument protection areas pursuant to § 21 SächsDSchG and in the vicinity of monuments.
The basis is a modelling of solar radiation for the state capital Dresden, which was developed by the IÖR and the Chair of Geoinformatics of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as part of the research project "Standard GDPV".
Based on the virtual 3D city model Dresden from 2019 with 135.583 buildings, the solar radiation on all roofs and facades of the state capital was calculated taking into account the shading by surrounding buildings, the urban tree population and the topography.
