Description
Surface temperature that can be mapped by a color gradient representing hot/cold areas (see overview).Raster monochannel data, satellite image taken on April 30, 2011. One pixel represents 30 m terrain;
the Landsat 5 source data has a pixel of 120 m.
Warning of use:
the surface temperature is not the air temperature.
We cannot therefore obtain, from this data, a map of the temperature of the air and therefore of the Ilots of Chaleur but a map of the warmest surfaces seen from the sky.
Thus, in dense areas we will mainly have the temperature of the roofs, when the streets are wider we will also have the temperature of the roads or floors, in any case the impact of the facades will not be visible.
