Description
Baden-Württemberg is particularly rich in caves and natural cavities due to its high proportion of karst-capable rocks. These are mainly limestones of the shell limestone and the upper jura, in which extensive cave systems have been created. Many of these caves have been geotouristically developed and have been popular and frequently visited geo-targets for many decades.
