Axle load detection

The BASt axle load measuring network comprises 41 directional measuring points at 21 cross-sections. During the journey, the vehicles are weighed with the help of sensors (Weigh In Motion, WIM). Among other things, the data form the basis for a load-appropriate dimensioning of road superstructures and the design of bridge structures.

A map available on the BASt homepage shows the daily load quantity per direction in the motorway network. For this purpose, the results of the axle load measuring stations from 2015 to 2017 were extrapolated to the network.

Selected results from the years 2011 to 2017 can be downloaded from the respective measuring point cross-sections. If there were no evaluable data for a cross-section in a year, only the current, general information is stored.
