Description

The network conversion to the waterways of the traffic forecast is part of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan (BVWP) 2030 and the basis for the planning of new construction and replacement investments in the federal waterway network. The network redeployment of waterways shall determine the volumes of inland waterway and maritime freight and the fleet structures of inland waterway transport for the individual routes of the waterway network for the analysis year 2010 and the forecast year 2030. The reallocation results of earlier traffic interconnection forecasts on the German inland and maritime shipping roads have so far been made available in the Windows application PlanGIS (Planco's Geographical Information System). TraVis (transport quantity visualization) is the successor application of PlanGIS and is freely accessible to all users. In addition, it allows the user to integrate the provided data into other applications through standardized interfaces.
