Description

The Habitats-Faune-Flore Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Birds Directive (2009/147/EC, codified version of the original text, Directive 79/409/EEC), establish the regulatory basis for nature conservation within the European Union. In addition to the conservation actions to be implemented, the Member States undertake, through these texts, to regularly assess the status and trends of the species and habitat types covered by these Nature Directives and report them to the European Commission.
