Open Medic: full basis on expenditure on inter-scheme medicines

Description

The Open Medic data offer consists of a set of annual databases, covering the use of the medicine, issued in town pharmacies from 2014 to 2023. It provides additional information to the file [Medic’AM] (https://www.data.gouv.fr/en/datasets/medicaments-rembourses-par-lassurance-maladie/). All data are extracted from the National Health Data System (SNDS). Data on the drug are reported through the ATC classification. The ATC classification is used to classify drugs according to a hierarchical principle. Drugs are divided into different groups according to the organ or system on which they act and/or their therapeutic and chemical characteristics. This offer is based on two types of datasets: - **Full base on inter-scheme drug expenditures** The first Open_Medic_2014 to 2023 datasets make it possible to study expenditure on medicines (amounts reimbursed and reimbursable) and the number of boxes issued, based on descriptive elements on beneficiaries (age group, gender, region of residence according to the new INSEE nomenclature) or information on the prescriber’s specialty, for one year. - **Additional bases enriched with consumer counts** The second datasets were compiled in addition to the Open_Medic_2014 to 2023 databases to report the number of people who used medicines at different levels of groupings. Indicators on the amounts and number of boxes are also made available on these different intermediate levels. These files are prefixed by NB and the year concerned. Then the suffix indicates on the one hand the level of the ATC classification studied (ATC1, ATC2,.., CIP13), on the other hand the additional breakdown criteria. Forty-eight bases have been set up to meet the need and ensure that consumers do not double-count. They are accessible according to the year in question and the different levels of the ATC hierarchy. *Important note: the reimbursement basis and the amount reimbursed do not include dispensing fees for packaging received by dispensing pharmacists since 1 January 2015.
