INTERNATIONAL COMPARISONS DEFENCE IN THE GREAT INDUSTRIAL COUNTRIES (2006 - 2014)
Description
This dataset is extracted from **Chapter 6** of the**Defence Statistics Yearbook 2014/2015** (**Ministry of Defence - Defence Economic Observatory**) and presents a comparison of defence expenditure and manpower of France's main partners (Germany, Spain, United States, Italy and United Kingdom). In order to compare countries on their strictly military activities, and because of different pension schemes between countries, the scope used for these data is the NATO perimeter, excluding pensions: €31.4 billion for France in 2014, or 1.5% of GDP.
