Description
Rock Observations contains point objects with information from rock geological observations and measurements from rocks and other places where the rock is exposed, such as in boreholes and tunnels. The information is based on field assessments and some measurements.
Field observation data have been continuously added to the product since the early 1990s. The digitisation of information from older analogue diaries has only taken place to a limited extent.
The product contains observational results, e.g. rock type and structure, and measurement results, e.g. storage directions and magnetic susceptibility.
In the point layer bedrock observations_mountain, a point represents an observed rock. Thus, if several rocks were documented at the same point, there are several on top of each other in the point layer. The same applies to the measured structures in the point layer bedrock observations_structures.
