Type 2 Natural Areas of Fauna and Flora Ecological Interest
Description
A ZNIEFF is defined by the scientific identification of a sector of the national territory of particular ecological interest. All these sectors thus constitute the inventory of exceptional or representative natural areas. Type II areas are large natural areas (forest massif, valley, plateau, estuary ...) rich and little modified, or which offer significant biological potential. In these areas, it is important to respect the main ecological balances, taking into account, in particular, the home range of sedentary or migratory fauna.
