15065 — Investments in administrative detention centres
Description
This indicator takes into account foreigners in an irregular situation who are subject to an obligation to leave the territory, an order to return to the border, a prefectural or ministerial expulsion order, a readmission measure or sentenced to an indictment, whether as a main sentence or as an additional penalty, and who are awaiting their removal from the territory.
The drop in detentions in metropolitan France (-29 % between 2008 and 2011) can be explained by an increased selectivity of services in the conduct of procedures. As regards overseas, DCPAF’s reliability of its data led to this downward readjustment. Moreover, regardless of the place of detention, accompanying minors (478 in 2011 and 98 in 2012 in metropolitan France, 2,553 and 3,990 for those same years overseas) are no longer counted among those detained since 2011.
