The assessment of the number of persons staying irregularly on the territory is currently not possible. The number of beneficiaries of State medical aid may be a first
come on.
Having entered into force on 1 January 2000, pursuant to the Law of 25 July 1999 establishing universal health coverage, the State Medical Assistance (AME) covers, subject to conditions of resources, the health costs of persons in an irregular situation with regard to the right of residence, which are therefore ineligible for the CMU.
