15055 — First Community residence permits and permits — European Economic Area
Description
These titles are intended for EU nationals who request it and their family members, including when they are third-country nationals.
These persons may therefore be entitled to ‘EU’ (‘EC’ until 2011) titles which vary according to the applicant’s profile and whose validity may not exceed 5 years, except in the case of a permanent title.
Third-country nationals who are family members of EU citizens as well as nationals of a new Member State subject to a transitional period who wish to pursue a professional activity and have obtained a work permit (or equivalent, in the case of self-employed activity) must be provided with such a card. Other EU citizens have the right to apply for the issue, which is a matter of law.
