15031 — The evolution of the issuance of short-stay visas
Description
The significant increase in the number of short-stay visas issued has been confirmed since 2010 (+ 8.9 %) after a decrease in 2008 and 2009. Thus, the increase in 2013 stood at + 9.3 %, following two consecutive years of increase in 2011 (+ 8.6 %) and 2012 (+ 8.5 %).
On the other hand, the number of LTVs (-21 %) and ATVs (-24 %) was significantly reduced in 2013, confirming the statistics of previous years in this respect.
France issues an average of around 14.17 % of short-stay Schengen visas issued by all Member States under the Convention. It should be noted that this percentage was 15.51 % in 2012.
