15001 — Stock of valid provisional residence permits and permits
Description
**The foreign population established in metropolitan France:**
The interpretation of these data, which counts the number of valid residence permits, requires certain precautions. Three phenomena disrupt the enumeration of foreigners established in France:
• under-reporting in population census surveys by INSEE;
• the overvaluation of the actual presence via AGDREF (some foreigners holding a residence card have left France, have died or have acquired French nationality, but remain in the files, the latter being updated in no real time);
• the existence of movements within the stock of valid securities due to category changes.
