Modelled distribution of habitats under the Estonian Habitats Directive (EELIS)
Description
Map layers updated in 2017 for the distribution of Habitats Directive habitat types 1110, 1140, 1170. Layers present three of the six habitat types present in the Estonian sea (according to Paal (2007) Habitats Directive habitat types manual). National environmental monitoring and monitoring data from the various relevant projects were used as input data. Inventories, i.e. real data as of 2017, covered about one third of the entire Estonian marine area, so when using the data, it must be remembered that these are the layers of modelled distribution.
Geographical coverage: Baltic Sea, Estonia EEZ.
The database is part of the Estonian Nature Information System (EELIS). Related legislation: Directive 92/43/EEC; Directive 2008/56/EC
