Description
Statistics on tourist accommodation capacity:
- Hotels: number of hotels and number of rooms
- Campsites: number of campsites and number of pitches
- Holiday villages, tourist residences and youth hostels: number of units and number of beds
The new tourist classification is the result of Law No. 2009-888 of 22 July 2009 on the development and modernization of tourism services. It is valid for 5 years and has 5 categories ranging from 1 to 5 stars (plus the distinction "palace" for some 5-star hotels).
According to the provisions of the law, the old hotel classification (from 0 to 4 stars and 4 stars luxury) is obsolete since July 23, 2012.
