Description
This data provides information on the location of geodetic points in the Languedoc Roussillon region. A geodesic point is a point whose position on the Earth has been determined precisely through geodesy, using triangulation.
It can be materialized by a precise element, visible on a building (arrow, cross, antenna), or a terminal on the ground, called a geodesic terminal, surmounted or not by a sight allowing to see it from a distance, and which was formerly used for the determination of the coordinates of this terminal by triangulation, optical method. This data is not an institutional data from the services of the City of Montpellier, it is a citizen data extracted from OpenStreetMap, a free and collaborative mapping project http://www.openstreetmap.fr, these data are available under the ODbL free license. They are updated every Sunday morning.
