Base National Address

Description

The National Address Base** is one of the nine databases of the [public reference data service](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/reference). It is the only database of addresses **officially recognised by the administration**. **Digital shared-use service** and **core infrastructure** on which many public policies are backed up, it is part of the **state information and communication system** and is therefore under the responsibility of the Prime Minister**. Under co-piloting **DINUM**, **ANCT** and **IGN**, its construction is ensured thanks to many partners and in the first place by the **communities**, **only competent authorities in terms of addressing**. The National Address Base is accessible as files and APIs. A [free geocoding service](https://adresse.data.gouv.fr/api) is provided by Etalab.
