Fossil energy projects guaranteed by Coface between 2001 and 2014
Description
Since 2001, Coface has been distributing every quarter on its site (under the heading ‘public guarantees’) all projects above EUR 10 million (the threshold was EUR 20 million until 2004) and/or located in a sensitive area, which have benefited from its guarantee on behalf of the State. This file lists the 28 fossil fuel projects since 2001. They are identified according to eight categories: pipeline, gas pipeline, coal power plant, gas power plant, oil power plant, oil production (including exploration), gas production (including exploration), refining. Transmission of electricity was not taken into account, except for a substation directly linked to a thermal power plant. Deemed to fall into the category of nuclear and not fossil fuels, diesel units intended for nuclear power plants have also not been taken into account. The amounts guaranteed in millions of euros, the companies benefiting from the contracts, the geographical location of each project and its description are specified.
