Land resource map – AR250

Description

AR250 is a comprehensive dataset that shows the country’s land resources in light of their suitability for agriculture and forestry. The data set is adapted for visualisation on scales from 1:100 000 to 1:300 000 (county and region level). the data set is made by generalising the AR5 area resource map below the tree line and interpreting satellite images above the tree line. In addition, N250 is used where there was neither AR5 nor suitable satellite imagery. Figures that are less than 100 acres are not displayed on the map, but are merged with adjacent areas. AR250 is thus not suitable for spatial analyses or production of land-use statistics. The dataset is updated once every three years with the last year’s version of FKB-AR5 (area resource map in scale 1:5000 in the database as of 31.12). The latest update has data from 31.12.2016.
