Current health expenditure amounted to EUR 247.7 billion in 2013, i.e. 11.7 % of gross domestic product (GDP) in base 2010. The consumption of healthcare and medical goods (CSBM), which accounts for three quarters, amounts to EUR 186.7 billion. It stood at 8.8 % of GDP in 2013, up from 8.7 % in 2012.
