Accessibility and access to care facilities for dependent elderly people in 2011

At the end of 2011, the 7,752 care homes for dependent elderly people (EHPADs) offer an average of 101 places per 1,000 people aged 75 or over. The equipment rate varies between departments from 22 to 185 places. The south of France and the small Parisian crown are the least well equipped regions. Conversely, the Pays de la Loire and Auvergne have the highest equipment rates. The distribution of EHPADs also varies greatly according to their legal status (public or private).
