Description
By convention, the coefficient 100 is attributed to “the greatest tide that follows about a day and a half the moment of the full or the new moon, towards the syzygies of equinoxes” (Laplace, _Treaty of celestial mechanics_, volume V, 1825).
All coefficients above 100 are then referred to as “large tides”.
For each year, the resources below list all the dates for which the coefficient is greater than or equal to 100.
