Biogeographical regions in Lower SaxonyThe dataset of the biogeographical regions of the EU (Habitats Directive (92/43 / EEC) - EMERALD network) has been adapted to the external borders of Lower Saxony (BKG VG250). The Atlantic region is represented in the coastal area not only on the mainland and islands, but also includes the territorial sea (12 nautical miles zone) of Lower Saxony. This adjustment was made so that the data set of the biogeographical regions is comparable to the data set of the natural spatial regions and the red list regions in Lower Saxony.
