In 2013, 2324 military personnel were reclassified in the three public functions according to the five procedures in force, namely secondment-integration (Article L. 4139-2 of the Defence Code), reserved posts (Article L. 4139-3), secondments (Article L. 4138-8), competitions (Article L. 4139-1) and recruitment on contracts. As retraining in the public sector is one of the levers of the HR maneuver of the Ministry of Defence, the reclassification of only military personnel under the Ministry of Defence (i.e. outside the gendarmerie) should be taken into account.
