Current expenditure on health amounted to €243 billion in 2012, or 12% of gross domestic product (GDP). Consumption of healthcare and medical goods (CSBM), which accounts for three quarters, is worth €183.6 billion. Its increase in value is significantly less than 3% for the third consecutive year: +2.2% in 2012, after +2.5% in 2011 and +2.4% in 2010. Its share in GDP is 9%, as in 2011.
